We visited Dunfermline police station on Monday the 20th of June where we were shown round Dunfermline Police Station and got an insight into what involved in being a police officer and how it has changed over the years. We then got shown round some of the different departments that are in the station.
We first got shown the cells and how they work and the different procedures that are involved in different situations. For example if someone was arrested they may have to the breathalyzer test, blood tests and DNA tests. We got all these shown to us and explained how they work. We were shown around the station by Cpl Fairfeild's Mum who has worked at the station for over 20 years and in that time has worked in different departments. Overall the cadets said that they really enjoyed the night at the station and learnt a lot in the night that they never knew before and got a real insight into what being a police officer is like.
