Cpl Rae recently attended the Personal Awareness and Moral Leadership course at Amport house. The cadets were taught, through experiential learning, different aspects of teamwork. Trust, respect and morals. The weekend was spent doing various tasks in groups to develop these skills and allow the cadets to become better leaders. All of the cadets involved in the course thoroughly enjoyed the couse and Cpl Rae would recommend it to anyone.
This evening Cpl Nick Hope gave his instructor cadet presentation to Flt Lt Kyle and Wg Cdr Wallace, the slideshow took the format of a lesson and was the final part of reaching the Instructor Cadet classification.Cpl Hope received fantastic feedback and his lanyard at the end of the evening, presented by Flt Lt Kyle. The NCO team and Sqn Ldr Mitchell (ret'd) recapped the lessons and training they had done throughout 2014 and discussed the NCO development planned for 2015. Cdt Talbot and Cdt Cowan gained some command experience and took the recruits for drill, the new cadets were taught basic drill where as the more experienced cadets practised some of the manoeuvres required for the drill sequence.
Tonight cadets participated in the OC's Challenge in having a Paper Plane competition between both flights getting judged at the end to see which flight had the best plane. Throughout the night each flight got briefed on what to do then went on and made a plan for what their plane would look like and be called. At the end when both flights had made a paper plane and created a presentation describing the features of the plane and why the judges should choose their plane. Vulcan flight came up with the name for their plane "Putin Exterminator" and Victor flight chose the name "The Popadom 123". In the end the judges chose the winner to be Vulcan flight. Overall the night was a great success with cadets drawing on their teamwork skills and also presentation skills!
